I had a great experience with dental grants. They helped me out in ways they don't even know, I needed work done that I had been putting off because of finances, but with their help it was completed, highly recommended. Thank you Grace and the whole team involved.

I was a bit cautious as I was always taught if it sounds to good to be true??  The dentist they recommended to me based on my dental needs was amazing and I have seen several trying to figure out what would be the best procedure for me. The Dental Grants representative was gracious, helpful and respectful. I received a 25% grant that made the difference of being able to afford this procedure or putting it off for another couple of years and causing more damage. I am very grateful to Dental Grants of Canada.

I ran across Dental Grants of Canada accidentally just when I needed some dental work done. I met with a rep at the dental office where the work will be done. The process was quick and efficient and will end up saving me a lot of money. Contact them to see what can be done for you. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

  • Can I use dental insurance in combination with the Grant?
You can combine your employer insurance with the dental grant for maximum savings. Your dentist will apply your grant, and the insurance will be applied toward the remaining amount. Please note: Dental Grants cannot be used in combination with Government Sponsored Health Programs that provide coverage for dental services. We may still refer you to a local dentist however the Grant will not apply.
  • Do all Dentists charge the same?
Yes and No. While many dentists charge similar rates based on their fee guide, some dentists may take a 'wait-and-see approach' and others may take a more aggressive approach which could affect the upfront cost of a treatment plan. There could also be price variances based on the types of materials used by the dentist. The patient's own medical history, oral hygiene status as well as their likelihood of following a treatment plan can also influence a dentist's decisions and therefore his or her fees.
  • Do participating Dentists inflate their fees?
Of course not. Dentists that participate in our program do not increase their fees when quoting prices to Grant Applicants. In fact, you are welcome to attend at a non-participating dentist to obtain a competing quote before or after attending at a participating dentist for your assessment. If the competing quote is higher, speak to your Program Consultant to find out why, or to learn what we can do to help.
  • Is there a fee to apply?
No, there is no fee to apply at any time for a Dental Grant.
  • How much can I qualify for?
You can qualify for up to 30% of the cost of your treatment plan. The current Grant Payment Guide is as follows: Treatment Plan Cost: $500 - $25,000 Grant: 25% Treatment Plan Cost: $25,001 + Grant: 30%
  • Can I go to any dentist?
No. Your dental work must be completed by a dentist that is part of our program.
  • Do I have to pay back the Dental Grant?
No, grant funds are free and do not need to be repaid.
  • What Procedures are Covered?
Most Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures are covered, as are basic dentistry procedures such as fillings and extractions, provided the basic dentistry procedure is incidental to the Cosmetic Dentistry Procedure. For full details, ask your Program Consultant.
  • Can I use Grant funds for general dentistry?
Yes, provided the general dentistry is incidental to the cosmetic dental work being done.
  • Which Dentist will provide my free consultation?
Once we learn what kind of dental work you want done, we will refer you to a dentist that is within close proximity to your home that provides the kind of dental work you need.
  • Can I get a Competing Quote from another Dentist?
Yes. Even though most dentists charge similar rates for the same kind of dental work, your best interests come first so we will work hard to make sure your Grant gets applied toward a treatment plan from a participating dentist that is the same cost as any other quote you receive, provided the quote is based on the same kind of dental work being performed and the same kind of materials being used.
  • Why Should I Apply for a Dental Grant?
It all starts with wanting to have your smile reflect the confident person you truly are. The likelihood of committing to a cosmetic treatment plan that will help you achieve your personal goals and enhance your self confidence becomes more attainable with a Dental Grant.
  • Is the Dental Program only meant for people that cannot afford a dentist?
Of course not. Dental Grants are typically for people that need dental work anyway, but want the benefit of a financial bridge to do it now. Having a healthy, beautiful smile is a common goal shared by most people.
  • Who Applies for a Dental Grant?
People from all socio-economic backgrounds take advantage of the Dental Grant, and many apply for different reasons. Here are 6 Common Reasons people wish to improve on their smile.
  • How do I Qualify as a Candidate?
To determine your eligibility, you will need to attend for a free consultation at a Participating Dental Practitioner in our program. (The dentist will charge a fee for the examination and x-rays - ask for details) Following completion of your consultation, the dental practitioner will make certain recommendations and can provide you with a treatment plan that sets out a clear path for achieving your desired results.
  • How / when are Dental Grants Awarded?
Dental Grants are deducted up front from the cost of your dental treatment.
  • How does the Process Work?
    1. An applicant submits a request for funds at our website. 2. The applicant’s information is confirmed by a representative of our Organization. 3. An appointment is booked for the applicant to attend at a participating dentist for a free consultation. 4. The participating dentist provides the applicant with a treatment plan which includes the cost to complete the dental work. 5. The Patient Advocate confirms the final cost of the treatment plan and the exact amount of the Dental Grant. 6. If the applicant is satisfied with the treatment plan and Grant amount, he/she must make satisfactory arrangements to pay the amount not covered by the Grant, and may then begin treatment.
  • Can I apply more than once?
No, you may only apply once.
  • How is the Program Funded?
For more details, please check Here.
  • Once I am recommended for inclusion into the program, how long does my application remain eligible?
Your application is valid for 45 days and your consultation must be booked by then.
  • Can I apply if I don't have a regular dentist?
Yes. We will refer you to a dentist near you that participates in our program.
  • Can I apply if I am presently receiving treatment, or to pay for prior treatment?"
Unfortunately, you may not apply for the purpose of re-paying prior treatment, or to pay for existing treatment for cosmetic dentistry work that has already been completed or is in the process of being completed. For full eligibility terms and conditions, please carefully review our Program Rules & Regulations.
  • What is the Qualifying Criteria I Must Satisfy to Obtain a Grant?
Any Canadian or US resident over the age of 18 (or under 18 with guardian consent) that lives within proximity of a participating dentist may apply for a Dental Grant, however you may need to demonstrate that you have the financial capability, or valid insurance coverage, to pay for certain costs that are not included with the Grant. For more information, please speak with a representative.
  • How can I pay for the part of the treatment not covered by the grant?
You may pay the dentist for your portion of the treatment using any usual method of payment such as credit card, debit card, private insurance or cash. You may also qualify for a Payment Plan. Click Here for details. You may NOT be able to use government sponsored forms of payment such as OHIP, ODSP, Medicare or Medicaid.
