What is the Qualifying Criteria I Must Satisfy to Obtain a Grant?
Any Canadian resident over the age of 18 (or under 18 with guardian consent) that lives within proximity of a participating dentist may apply for a Dental Grant, however you may need to demonstrate that you have the financial capability, or valid insurance coverage, to pay for certain costs that are not included with the Grant.
Can I get a Competing Quote from another Dentist?
Even though most dentists charge similar rates for the same kind of dental work, your best interests come first so we will work hard to make sure your Grant gets applied toward a treatment plan from a participating dentist that is the same cost as any other quote you receive, provided the quote is based on the same kind of dental work being performed and the same kind of materials being used.
Do all Dentists charge the same?
While many dentists charge similar rates based on their fee guide, some dentists may take a 'wait-and-see approach' and others may take a more aggressive approach which could affect the upfront cost of a treatment plan.
There could also be price variances based on the types of materials used by the dentist.
Do participating Dentists inflate their fees?
Of course not. Dentists that participate in our program do not increase their fees when quoting prices to Grant Applicants.
In fact, you are welcome to attend at a non-participating dentist to obtain a competing quote before or after attending at a participating dentist for your assessment.
If the competing quote is higher, speak to your Program Consultant to find out why, or to learn what we can do to help.
How can I pay for the part of the treatment not covered by the grant?
You may pay the dentist for your portion of the treatment using any usual method of payment such as credit card, debit card, private insurance or cash.
You may also qualify for a Payment Plan. Click Here for details.
You may NOT be able to use government sponsored forms of payment such as OHIP, ODSP, Medicare or Medicaid.
Can I use my dental insurance in combination with the Grant?
