We're partnering with Merton TV to refer vetted candidates to a select number of dental clinics for consultations and treatment plans.

We're working with Merton TV in connection with a new television series, The Smile Project, scheduled for broadcast on FOX affiliates. The program is a documentary-style series that explores how improving a person’s smile can impact confidence, opportunities, and overall quality of life.
 

As part of this initiative, we're responsible for assessing candidates who are seeking dental treatment and may be considered for participation in the series. These individuals have already been reviewed at a preliminary level by Merton and require a professional clinical evaluation of their dental needs.
 

Clinical Participation

A limited number of dental offices are being invited to participate in the clinical assessment stage.
 

From time to time, qualified candidates may be referred to you for:

• A consultation

• Diagnostic review

• Preparation of a treatment plan
   

Referrals are made based on treatment requirements and geographic proximity.
 

Candidate Profile

Candidates referred through this process are generally individuals who:
 

• Do not have an active dentist

• Have not sought dental care in several years

• Are motivated to move forward with treatment

• Have already taken steps toward addressing their dental needs

• Live or work near your clinic
   

Candidates are responsible for certain diagnostic costs, such as x-rays.
 

Selection Process

One participant will be selected per episode, with the cost covered by Merton TV.
 

If a candidate you see is selected, the treatment is funded.
 

Non-Selected Candidates

Candidates who are not selected for the TV show may proceed to your clinic directly to continue treatment at their own expense.
 

Patient Betterment also operates the Dental Grants program, which is separate from The Smile Project.
